New scales were installed at the loading/unloading base of Irshansk Mining and Processing Plant, a subsidiary of JSC UMCC. They will weigh the main product – ilmenite concentrate more precisely and faster.
JSC United Mining and Chemical Plant allocated UAH 350,000 for the purchase of new equipment. Rostyslav Kozak, Chief of the Loading/Unloading Base, informed that the old scales had been in operation for over 30 years. The wear of the structures has reached a critical point. “The demand for the new scales became a production need. The latest major overhaul of the old scales was carried out back in 2014,” told Kozak.
The new automobile scales are required for the loading/unloading base for reliable and quick weighing of ilmenite concentrate that comes from the open pit mines of the plant. Now, all proper conditions have been created for it.
Assembly of the platform and electronic equipment was carried out by the contractor. Employees of the company installed software, which connects the operation of the scales to the 1S Accounting System. This will largely improve accounting of the freight turnover at the loading/unloading base of the subsidiary, reduce risks of errors, since the system will be operating in automatic mode.
As a reminder, in the end of 2018, major overhaul of electronic automobile scales at the processing factory No. 1 of the plant was carried out. JSC United Mining and Chemical Company spent UAH 411,000 for the modernization of the weighing equipment.
“Automation of processing and weighing and loading of products, which we are actively introducing at the subsidiaries, will help save funds of the company. This is why we continue working in this direction,” comments Oleksandr Gladushko, Acting Chairman of the Board of JSC UMCC.
