On February 12, technical specialists of Vilnohirsk Mining and Metallurgical Plant, a subsidiary of JSC UMCC, visited Irshansk. There, they observed the operation of separators manufactured by Australian company Mineral Technologies, which are currently being successfully used at the Irshansk processing production. Understanding the experience of the Irshansk subsidiary will help make decisions regarding equipment upgrade at the Vilnohirsk subsidiary.
Exchange of experience within the company is an invaluable opportunity to see the real results of operation of specific equipment. A whole delegation of the processing specialists traveled to Irshansk to gain an understanding of how the Australian separators operate. Oleksiy Ryabinin, Head of the Group, Chief Engineer at Vilnohirsk MMP, shared that the main objective of the visit was to see the operation of spiral separators of the open pit mine No. 9 live, see how they are assembled and their operating specifications. “We have observed the operation in order to decide whether the use of such processing equipment would be productive at the VMMP subsidiary,” said the chief engineer.
At the factory No. 3, the guests examined the mechanism of operation of three belt vacuum filters of LON-1.6/3.2 type. As a reminder, this equipment for dehydration of the products was moved from Vilnohirsk subsidiary and assembled at the beginning of 2020.
Vilnohirsk specialists also visited processing factory of the open pit mine No.7, where they observed the operation and examined the results of operation of recently installed battery of CAVEX hydrocyclones, manufactured by British Weir Group.
Andriy Ivanchenko, Deputy Chief Engineer of Irshansk Mining and Processing Plant, informed that technology experts of the plant provided their colleagues from Vilnohirsk with detailed information about the new equipment for them to gain a better understanding of how the new equipment operates in the conditions of the subsidiary.
Ihor Samofal, Head of Processing Production at VMMP; Eduard Ryabinin, Chief of Gravitation Section of Processing Production; Olena Chumak, Acting Chief Processing Specialists; Serhiy Rusakov, Chief of Technical Department of Processing Production; Taras Voloshynenko, Chief of Technological Sector of the Design Department, are happy with their visit and have brought back their own impressions.
