JSC United Mining and Chemical Company has financed the purchased of a new lifting machinery – a single beam crane with the capacity of 10 t for the needs of the mechanical repair workshop of Irshansk Mining and Processing Plant, a subsidiary of JSC UMCC.

The crane will lift and move cargo in vertical and horizontal directions during repairs. Without it, the work of the workshop is impossible, specialists say. Almost UAH 1.4 million was spent on the purchase and installation of the crane.
Mykola Parfentiyev, Chief of the Mechanical Repair Workshop (MRW) says that the old suspended traveling crane with the capacity of 5 t has exhausted its resource and became dangerous to us and could begin ruining the frame of the building of the boiler-welding section of MRW.
For nearly two months, the specialists of the construction and installation and repair and construction workshop, MRW and a contractor worked hard to install the new crane and put it into operation. “The work on the installation of the crane was difficult, as it was carried out in the operating boiler-welding section without suspension of the production. Now, out MRW can fulfil the requests of the workshops and open pit mines of the plant regarding repairs on time,” stated Parfentiyev.
As a reminder, in the end of last year, for the purpose of preventing emergency situation at the main building of the MRW, replacement of the crane runway and drive wheels of the crane No. 245 with the capacity of 20 t and crane No. 246 with the capacity of 5 t was performed. JSC United Mining and Chemical Company allocated UAH 1.5 million for the purchase of new spare parts and repair and assembly works.
