Payroll at VMMP reached UAH 25 mn in October

After the increase of wages at the Vilnohirsk Mining and Metallurgical Plant in October 2015 by 15% for the workers and by 5% for engineers and technicians, the plant's payroll reached UAH 24.583 mn, reported VMMP's director Andriy Storchak.
“This is the highest indicator by base rates and wages at the company since the beginning of the year. It allowed us to reach the highest indicator of the average wage at the plant of UAH 6,375 in the period from January till October. This is higher than the average in the company this month – UAH 6,191. In fact, back in January the average wage at VMMP did not exceed UAH 5,096,” says Storchak.
“We are happy with this achievement, because we believe that improvement of the social standards at the company begins with this important item – increase of the base rate,” believes VMMP director. He specified that the increase of wages will inevitably lead to increase of other bonuses, as a result of which the workers and managing personnel will see their pays increase in the future.
The company's expenses for this purpose (increase of base rates) increased in October by UAH 3 mn. SE UMCC's payroll in October amounted to UAH 34 mn. Thus, VMMP's payroll last month accounted for around 73% of the total company's payroll. Overall, in January-September, SE UMCC paid UAH 225 mn in wages to its employees.
The path to increasing the wages at VMMP was long and full of difficulties. «It took a while to find a compromise with the representatives of the plant's trade union. And we are happy that they heard us. Without the increase of the base rate, there is no sense in talking about the bonuses and extras,” said Storchak.
