Walking dragline excavators of IMPP are ready to develop new sites

In the end of March, Irshansk Mining and Processing Plant, a subsidiary of JSC United Mining and Chemical Company, successfully completed the repairs of the mining machinery: walking excavators ESH 10/60 No. 90, ESH 10/60 No. 110 and ESH 10/70 No. 436. The excavators are ready to mine titanium sands on the new sites.
JSC UMCC spent nearly UAH 5 million for the repairs. “The required spare parts and materials were purchased in advance for this important kind of work. There were no delays in the funding required for the overhaul of the walking excavators,” says Oleksandr Denysenko, Chief Mechanic of the subsidiary.
The repaired machinery will develop the new sites of the ilmenite placer Mezhyrichne Deposit, which the subsidiary received in the end of last year, enabling the subsidiary to produce hundreds thousands cubic meters of titanium ores from the bowels of Earth.
The walking excavators will operate at the open pit mines No. 8 and No. 9. At the moment, the factories of these open pit mines are being technically re-equipped, as the Irshansk workers are preparing them for processing of the new titanium raw materials. It is planned that the new separators of the Australian company Minerals Technologies will be installed at the factory of the open pit mine No. 9; both factories received new hydrocyclones, which will improve the performance of extraction at the stage of primary processing. The company is also planning to provide the factories of the aforementioned open pit mines with new modern pumps, which will save substantial finances for the subsidiary on the energy resources procurements.
The load on the open pit mines and factories No. 8 and No. 9 will be highest during the development of the new sites, says Oleksandr Gladushko, Acting Chairman of the Board of JSC UMCC. These facilities will have enough work for 5 and 10 years respectively, according to him.
