РJSC UMCC purchased a block of rotors for IMPP subsidiary
18.04.2017Replacement of blocks of rotors at the subsidiary's separators will help improve the efficiency of processing at the processing plant No. 1 and increase output
Besides introduction of energy saving technologies, PJSC United Mining and Chemical Company invests into renewal of production at its plants to reduce losses of products and improve production efficiency.
In the beginning of the year, the company installed a block of rotors for the separator priced at over UAH 2 mn for Irshansk Mining and Processing Plant. In the middle of March, operation of the processing plant No. 1 was stopped and the rotors at the separator No. 1 were replaced.
The investment into modernization was justified, which can be seen from the indicators registered at the plant in the beginning of April. In particular, ilmenite content in the concentrate at the upgraded separator was increased from 91.8% to 96.4%, its content in the tails was reduced nearly twice – from 7.1% to 4.2%. Separation efficiency improved from 75.11% to 88.52%. The plant the processes ore now loses less finished products, which speaks for the correctness of the decision to replace the rotors.
“We are happy with the result of the investment into key production equipment. According to our calculations, replacement of the block of rotors at the second separator of the processing plant No. 1, which we are planning in the nearest future, will help increase output by 2,000 t annually. This is about UAH 4.5 mn of additional earnings per year,” comments UMCC Acting Chairman of the Board Oleksandr Gladushko.
He says the term of return of investments into planned replacement of rotors at two separators of the processing plant No. 1 should be one year. “This means that the decision on upgrading this equipment is economically expedient and justified. We will continue to focus on modernization of outdated equipment of the processing plants of the company along with introduction of energy saving technologies and improvement of economic indicators of the production at the IMPP and VMMP,” says Gladushko. He believes these steps improve competitive level of UMCC companies.
