UMCC purchased front end loaders for VMMP
20.11.2017The company continues to update VMMP's fixed assets
On Friday, November 17, the subsidiary received another piece of new equipment - the new JCB front end loader, purchased by the United Mining and Chemical Company. It will be used for loading the plant's products. The new JCB loader has bucket capacity of 3.1 cu meters and an extended arm, says Chief Engineer of the subsidiary Oleksandr Prokopenko.
“The price of this loader is UAH 5.736 mn. We also expect one more such loader of a similar price in December this year. The pre-payment for its delivery in the amount of UAH 4 mn has already been made,” he said.
These loaders are designed to work with various bulk materials, says Prokopenko. At the Vilnohirsk plant they will be involved in loading finished products into the railway cars, specifically ilmenite, rutile concentrates, sand. That is, they will be used in works where an extended arm is required.
This is not the last acquisition of the company with the purpose of updating outdated transport pool of the subsidiary. At the end of the current year or early next year, VMMP will receive another unit of load-lifting equipment - a wheeled multifunctional backhoe loader. “This is a small excavator with a bucket capacity of 1.3 cu meters and additional attachments - a hydraulic arm with a bucket capacity of 0.5 cu meters to perform excavation work,” comments the plant's chief engineer.
The cost of this machine is UAH 2.6 mn, he said. This loader will be used for a variety of repair works of hydrotransport pipelines, tailing facilities, repairs of central water supply, laying of cable channels and other works. It is universal equipment, which, besides processing production and repair and mechanical unit, will be in demand by other departments of the plant.
This is the second loader purchased this year at Vilnohirsk. Recently, the subsidiary received a new forklift for the processing division. Three more diesel forklifts for loading finished products will be purchased until the end of 2017. According to the investment plant, the company will spend UAH 16.2 mn this year to provide the subsidiary with loading equipment.
There will be 8 loaders of different types and specifications working at the VMMP. “Updating the motor pool is one of the items on the company’s investment program that aims at renewal of production assets of subsidiaries of UMCC. In the period from January until November this year, the company invested over UAH 70 mn into restructuring production at Vilnohirsk and Irshansk plants,” comments Acting Chairman of the Board of PJSC UMCC Oleksandr Hladushko.
These investments allowed the company to update the motor pool of the subsidiaries, purchase new equipment for working at the open pit mines and reconstruct certain sections of hydrotransport, crushing and gravity of the processing production, he said. UMCC will continue to invest into updating the company's assets in the future, the company's CEO promised.
As a reminder, this year VMMP also received five UAZ-Farmer utility vehicles, two Niva trucks, Gazel vehicle, 2 PAZ buses, 5 BELAZ dump trucks and D8r bulldozer.
