First results of testing Multotec separator unit have been received

The equipment helped increase volumes of refining of tailings and output of semi-finished products. Increase of output of finished products is expected
Multotec separator unit that was installed in September last year at the disintegration site of the enrichment production (EP) yielded the first results and it became clear that these investments have been justified.
The equipment additionally extracts rough collective concentrate in the volume of approximately 600 tons per month.
Additionally refined raw materials will further be used to produce clean wet sands of the BC-30 and BC-50 grades. Multotec equipment is introducing these new products into the sands line of the VMMP subsidiary. They will be produced in the volume of 150,000-200,000 tons per year. Multotec separator unit was essentially purchased with the purpose of improving the enrichment economy and issuing new brands of sands.
Oleksiy Ryabinin, Chief Engineer of the Enrichment Production, says return of investments into purchase and installation of Multotec separator unit is expected within eight months of continuous operation. “With this equipment, the economy of the enrichment production in general is improving. Effect from Multotec is evident, although hasn’t been studied completely,” the chief engineer of the processing plant says, sharing his impressions from the investments.
It is important that the collective concentrate, taking into account further processing at the gravity and finishing site, will also provide an increase in the output of the main concentrates: zircon, ilmenite and rutile. The specialists are still calculating this effect.
The company is planning to purchase another unit of separators in the future, which will be installed in the same disintegration site. “This will allow us to double the volumes of additional refining of tailings and improve economic indicators of the enrichment production,” Oleksandr Gladushko, Acting Chairman of the Board of PJSC UMCC comments on the plans.
As a reminder, investments into additional refining of concentrates at the enrichment production totaled UAH 3 million.
