Technological complex No. 1 in operation

On May 1, stripping complex TK-1 at Vilnohirsk Mining and Metallurgical Plant, a subsidiary of PJSC United Mining and Chemical Company, began its operation. From now on, the plant is operating at its full capacity in terms of stripping of overburden using its own resources, as TK-2 was put back into operation in April following the repairs.
In May the complex will open 400,000 cubic meters of rocks. The company spent about US $15 million to repair it, involving a lot of intellectual and physical efforts to bring it in order. The complex will save significant funds for the company in overburden mining, since stripping of the overburden by the complexes is much cheaper.
Acting chief of the open pit mine No. 7 Volodymyr Sadchikov says several services and divisions of the plant, including mining and transport division, repair and maintenance division and repair workshop, were involved in the repair of the complex. Workers of the energy division led by Ihor Hryhoryev provided assistance in setting up the electrical equipment.
One of the most difficult tasks during the repair was to restore the conveyor belt, which was completely out of order and obsolete. Engineers had to independently restore the circuitry of the tape and mount it in the absence of technical documentation.
Since the repair of the complex was not an ordinary one and required extra efforts from the workers involved in it, the company rewarded bonuses to the best employees for accomplishing this task. They succeeded in putting the complex into operation on time. “All main types of repair and commissioning works were performed on schedule and the complex began its operation on time,” tells Volodymyr Sadchikov.
The amount of incentive from PJSC UMCC was almost UAH 90,000.
